I'm into ceramics these days, and these works by hella jongerius are very inspirational. The looks of my work are totally different, but on a conceptual level they're alike sometimes. I'll show some more of my ceramic projects on inTussen blog soon!

I saw this beautiful lamp by Chris Kabel on his website. Simple, but because of the consequence of the material it's a complex kind of beauty. I like his approach to design and recognize my own attitude in it.
And I saw the new mac book's lauched. And I just bought the last one, but no regrets..

I saw this beautiful carpet here, made out of blankets. Design by Tejo Remy and Rene Veenhuizen in collaboration with Tanja Smeets. I did my internship at their office four years ago. See some more beautiful projects on their site. The cup is from Tanja Smeets' site.

crAzy

I went to Het Dolhuys in Haarlem this week, it's a former psychiatric hospital turned into a museum. The museum and exhibition is beautiful and interactive, the design of the interior is by Kossmann.deJong. It made hang around longer than planned and interested me in the topic. And I had some delicious cheesesoup in the restaurant.
"We would like to encourage our visitors to think about the boundary between crazy and normal and question the representations of ‘madness’. Experience the world of madness in the Dolhuys. Meet madmen and lunatics, or clients as they are known today, in our interactive museum and find out how the Netherlands has dealt with madness throughout the centuries."

Olafur Eliasson's house

Artist Olafur Eliasson created this piece, a laser-cut negative space rendering of his house in 1:85 scale. It’s made of 454 slices, bound together in a book. It was commissioned by the MoMa in NYC.
I saw this unique book a few weeks ago at a meeting, I couldn't believe my eyes, that it is possible to create something so complicated instead of only dreaming about it. When you flip through the book you discover beautiful details.

By dutch designer Christien Meindertsma. I appreciate the way she pays attention to the origin of the material she uses for her designs. There's even a picture with number of the animal the article's wool is made from. This particular carpet is made from the wool of 18 merino-sheep. Take a look on the website.

AnnA

I saw the exhibition "Anna" in the museum. Art objects -mostly on textile- are shown from Anna Verweij. She made them during the 70's, and died at a young age. I liked a few things about it; her experiments and poetic approach. Sometimes I didn't like the result, but I also liked to see that. What's the difference between ugly and beautiful, good and bad?
